Well done with the clean up,
I have decided not to cancell my trip in March 2005 from watching your photos. I want to book tours ie. June Bahtra to Phang Nga, Speedboat to Phi-Phi and Fantasea (I am already booked into Andaman Seaview Karon) but I am not sure if the cruises will still go to Phi-Phi or if there are boats? Please advise, thanks Cheryl

Dear all at phuket-photos.com.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS WEBSIDE !!!
By the time it is not possible in the normal Televison-News to get informations about the progress after the Tsunami in Phuket.
So your Web-pictures are the best (and only) way to see whats going on in Phuket at these days.
My question: We stayed in Oktober 2004 at the Evason Hotel in Rawai-Beach. We heared the Hotel and the staff are o.k..
But what is with Rawai-Beach and it`s friendly people ?
Thanks again for your great Webside + pictures.
GO ON LIKE THIS - THE WORLD NEEDS THE RIGHT INFORMATIONS !!!!
Best regards from Germany

We had a fantastic time in July last year on Phi Phi and at the Thavorn Hotel, Phuket and was shocked and deeply saddened at the destruction and loss of life on the 26th. Your website is a window into a community of people with incredible strength showing the world what the Thais are made of. We were treated like Kings when we were there and can't wait to see you again later this year. Hope all the staff at the Thavorn are OK but am worried about our friends we made at the Phi Phi Princess Resort, especially Sunny who took us out on his boat for 3 days. I'll keep searching.
Fantastic work...

Hi! My family were spending their Christmas Holiday in Kamala beach when the wave came. The thai peoples kindness and their will to help are what they´ve talked about since they returned home. Now they are trying to figure out what they can do to help the people that have shown such great hospitality to them. I know that especially my mother is very glad to be able to see the fotos you have taken day by day. I know that my family would be very happy if you got the chance to take a photo of the people working at Kamala beach so that they can see if they are OK. They used to be at the big hotel that you´ve taken pictures of. Both me and the rest of my family is thinking of them every day and wonder how they are. We are planning to come back as soon as possible again. Probably at the end of this year. Please say hello to them from "Big papa" with black hair and "Yoki". I hope they´ll understand who we are.

Sawadee khrup website staff. My second message now. You are doing a fantastic job with this website. I will be in Patong again very soon, for 5 weeks. All those people that know me, give me a paint brush and spade. WHATWEVER ! I would rather be there working for free, than staying in NZ wondering how people are coping. I Have read many letters on this site and it is very encouraging to see the comments and the attitude of people from all around the world. Good on you world. Patong will survive !! Rebecca fro NZ was asking about the TWO BLACK SHEEP PUB . I spoke to Bill the owner just after the tragedy unfolded. He is fine and I assume his wife is also. Hope you dont mind me speaking for you Bill. Look at their website www.twoblacksheep.net How about a few more messages from Kiwis eh ! There are not many on this site. Get writting Aotearoa.

My highest appreciation and admiration to the magnificent Thai people and their impressive spirit in dealing with this terrible disaster of unmatched proportion! Your published photos encourages me to be back in Patong as soon as possible!.
Maybe you could publish a photo or two of the Sunset Plaza, just across the street from Sea Pearl Beach Hotel and some more of that hotel, which seems to be hit very badly. I'm very worried about all my good friends who worked in the Sea Pearl Beach Hotel and at Sunset Plaza.

Hello all you nice people in Patong.
How good to see that so many things are back to normal. We have been to Thailand two times. Once in Kamala in Now ´03 and In Patong Now ´04 on honeymoon. We stayed in Thavorn beach village resort. We so much want to come back in the summer. This very nice lady in restaurant nr 60 told us we could visit Thailand in summer without too much rain, that the rainy season is not so bad. So we are hoping to be back in July. We miss Thailand and the nice people and we think about all of you very often. We hope that all the nice people we have met during our two trips, are all well.
Good luck with all the re-building and see you again...

We were in Phuket a month before the tidal wave, we spend many lovely days on the beach. The part of the beach we used was opposite Patong Seafood. We had our beds and umbarellas and the ladies on the beach gave us massages and floating a candle for us during the festival. We would really like to know if these people on the beach survived, the ladies who ran that section was very kind to me I had a fall in Thailand and hurt my ribs she she put Tiger Balm on them and massaged them which helped with the pain. We promised to come back in 2006 to see them.

I was also happy to see the bar "La Salsa" still there since it was directly behind Phuket Cabana, we went there several times during our stay. Dear People in Phuket,

Its unbelievelably what happend in South-East Asia. It's good to see that everybody donates money all over the world and its good that the people who are in need get help from other countries, trying to bring food, drinks and try to rebuild everything. Although the pain in peoples hearts and the loss of there loveones we can't give that back. If I could give all the love to the people who are in such pain emotionaly I would give it to them if I could.

In November 2003 we were in Phuket and Koh Phi phi. And the islands stole our hearts by its beauty and nice people. Its unbelievelably what happend and its tragic to see the pain and destroyed buildings, houses etc.
We want to come back this year.We wish you all the best for the future and hope the people in Thailand who are effected by the tsunami are strong enough to survive this pain. You are the land with the smile of Asia and although there is such pain at the moment i'm sure you have that little light in you that gives you a little smile again.
We sure come back to Thailand soon, we wont let you down.
Beste whishes from the Netherlands,
Joyce
PS How is Liam Singh Beach, can't find any information about it. We met Ali the owner of the open restaurant on the beach.

My husband and I have visited Phuket 5 times and are returning in May this year. We are in love with your beautiful island and beautiful people. We have been watching many news reports the media reporting is not fantastic. Your site is absolutely fantastic we check daily for progress in the place we adore. Our thoughts are with everyone at this time of sadness. We will be back in May can't wait.

Having been in Patong during the Tsunami, these photographs are just what Phuket needs in order to show visitors how quick the Thai people are in responding to the clean-up process of the coast line.
In Patong, most of the damage was done up to 300 metres inland from the beach road and even by new year's eve, some of the bars and restaurants in the top half of Bangla road were back in business albeit much more subdued.

I think that within just a few months your photographs will show that this popular resort will be on its way to getting back to normal.

We have just booked to return for 3 weeks, this time we are staying in Karon due to the Le Meridian being damaged, have you managed to get any photos so far as we have stayed there 3 times and felt for the wonderful staff there, I believe they were all ok. We were wondering if World of Paintings at 267 Rads Utid road was ok and also Saiwark Royal Art gallery further along the road coming up to the start of the Karon hill opposite where the old snake farm was, they are friends of ours and we were worried about them, also the girls at the Patong wellness centre massage clinic, when will they reopen. We will be bringing back toys with us for the children who have lost theirs and can't wait to give them out to brighten up their day a little after all they have been through.
Keep smiling there are many people who care a lot for the precious communtity you have and are wanting to help you rebuild.

I dont know what to add that hasnt already been said. Its clear from all these messages that we (the guests) are just as distraught as everyone else. I have seen images, watched amature videos, yet after all that nothing will stop me from coming back to the island and staying LONGER next time round. My thoughts go out to all of those who lost a friend or family member.
I have only two questions... Seaview Patong hotel? What has become of it? There was 100% damage reported, but no images thereof. And what of the kind dogs that run the street daily? Are they all right?

Thank you so much for your daily photographs - it really show people the reality of the situation rather than that being reported, and gives us hope for the thai people future. Keep up the good work.
Having visted Patong beach in the past two years, we were devastated to hear about the tsunami and the destruction it has caused to your lovely island. We stayed at the Cape Panwa Resort the first year and last year at the Armai Coral Beach Resort, we are especially worried about all the staff at the hotel, and all the staff at the Spa Centre. If you get time, we would greatfully appreciated photos of the Armari Coral Beach Resort, on the the rebuild to open in April. We are also thinking of the elderly gentleman who sold crepes and waffle at the roadside everynight on our walk back to our hotel.
Our love and thoughts are with all the thai people right now, as Phuket and its people have a special place in our hearts, it will always be the Island of Smiles. You are all in our thoughts and prayers every day.
We will be back in 2006, as we have already made alternative plans to holiday this year.
Thanks again.

My family spent the most memorable holiday on your beautiful island at the Burasari hotel on Patong Beach. We commented then on the hard working culture of the Thai people and have no doubt that you will come out on top of this. Hope the Burasari will be ready for our next visit! Keep up the good work.

I should have gone to phuket this week-end for two weeks but I asked the pay-back of my ticket.
I'm really sorry to have done this but I prefer to do that rather than going to te beach and doing as nothing happened. I prefer respect thai people and the death and stay at home because I m very sad to see what happened for your country.
I didn't want to enjoy myself whereas some people cry for the dead foreigner and thai people.
AWFUL is just the presently feeling.
I hope come back next year and I wish you some bravoury, strenght and faith.
Concerning your web site and the pictures, I just want to congratulate you because I think that TV change the reality.
