Hi
Please don't even worry about people questioning why you take daily photos of
Starbucks. To me that is the barometer of how Phuket is getting back on it's
feet and I always check the Starbucks pictures first.
I am a very regular visitor to Phuket, it is the only place in the world where
I holiday and I have been there 18 times in the last 10 years. I NEVER miss
out on a Starbucks coffee as it is something we do not have in our country.
I was at the Residence in kalim Bay when the tsunami hit us and I am very lucky
that we did not experience the same destruction as in Patong.
Thank you for the fantastic up-to-date pictures. I log in to your site every
day to check the progress as I am planning to go back in either April or June
and I am bringing as much of my friends with as possible.
Keep up the FANTASTIC work !!!!

Hello to the Photographer,

my travels that I love to see and we around the world are lucky enough that

It is a fabulous web site so far I had visited and I wished to say thank you
to the staff at Chin's Fruitty Juicy where help were rendered to us. I and few
of my friends were We were walked along the Beach Road after the sun bath from
the beach. While we turned into Bangla Road, many people were suddenly running
for live behind us as shouting, screamming " run, water coming". We
were in a shock and we started running also. From the back, the sea water is
swarming to us.
We were lucky enough where we reached a higher area right opposite the Patong
Electric Building. There the water were is reached till the main road and all
the building there were safe from being damaged.
There, we went to a fruit juice shop (Chin's Fruitty Juicy) asking for help
to return to the hotel but was adviced better to stay on first. We saw people
were runing to higher ground and many things were flow with the water along
the road. Rescue team were on their boat and even jet ski can be used on the
road now.
In that shop, we were given water and food. We felt secure there as the land
is higher and we found people like them are generous when in crisis. Staff there
told us the area is safe ( doubt at first ) expect from higher land there is
a wall behind them from the water to smash into the area. Thank God that He
bring us to the place.
With this opportunity I and my friends would like to express my sincere thank
you to them and surely I will be the Patong, Phuket again especially that fruit
juice shop.
Lastly, wish all the people in Phuket stand up together and hope recovery will
be complete soon.
All the best.

Regularly looked at your great site and it is tremendous the work that has been
done. Been coming to Thailand for 17 years now and have made definite plans
to visit Phuket in April to support the local people who need tourists to return.
Can't wait to get on the plane.

Our prayers have been answered. We are so happy to see Goy the taxi driver in
Patong safe and well. We used him in October when we stayed at the Holiday inn.
I e.mailed the Holiday Inn to make sure they were all o.k which they were and
asked after Goy but they didn't tell me if he was all right. We will be back
to Pantong next May can't wait. We are coming to Thialand in September but we
had already booked to go to Hau Hin before the Tsunami hit otherwise we would
be back sooner to see all of our Thai friends. Bless you all.

to visit in October. Your photos are amazing and I look forward to viewing a
new batch everyday. Thai people are incredible. Could you please try to update
the progress of the Holiday Inn and surrounding shops as I am anxious to see
how they have recovered. Thank you.

I'm going there for my birthday in March, I have no guilt about it if anything
I will take a day or 2 of my holiday to see if I can be any and I mean any assistance
to anyone at all. Anyone that say it to early has never been there doesn't understand
the people, culture and its strengths. I'm also trying to get most of my friends
to come along and have some fun and spend as much money as we can. Thai (plus
the others) people have in the passed and in the future placed us tourist on
there shoulders, (well me over there shoulders and taken me to my hotel) and
looked after us in ways some of us cannot imagine. So people come on you know
what's right!
Lets do it and show them that we care about them as much as they care about
us when we are there guest.
Plus can we have some night shots of the party happening on Bangala Rd please
Thank You for this website it has been most resourceful site I've been to (then

Okay. If it´s posible, could you take few pictures from a bar in Karon

Mermaid across the street, the bar is in the corner. Tuk tuk drivers are waiting
for customers in the front of the bar. The bar´s owners doughter´s

she could send her phone number to my e-mail. Thank you and all the best to

For the past 3 years I have visted Phuket during the month of October for my
holiday. Since my first visit dozens of my friends and family have also visited
after hearing about the most beautiful place in the world.
I tell them that not only are the hotels beautiful, the food world class, the
shopping amazing but the people are the kindest and most hard working in the
world.
I will be visiting Phuket again this year, not only with my husband but with
6 friends who are keen to discover our paradise.

Just came back from phuket 2 days ago. Enjoyed myself very much. At the banyan
tree resort, everything was just perfect, there was no damage to the resort
at all(at least not that I can see). Went to 2 other resorts in Laguna area
and didn't see any apparent damage... the only different between now and normal
days before the tsunami hit is that there are very few tourists and lots of
discounts offered everywhere! It's also life as usual in most parts of Patong,
except for the road nearest to the beach. It's really sad to see so few tourists
around when almost everything else has gone back to normal.... the same great
service from the friendly Thai folks, relaxing environment, nice food, beautiful
resorts...
Thus wanna encourage all to continue visiting this nice island that depends
a great deal on tourism and help the phuket folks get on with their lives.
